Different Types of Memorial Statues

Memorial statues come in a variety of different shapes and sizes and are made of a variety of different materials including bronze, granite, marble or fiberglass.

A bronze statue is constructed using the famous lost wax bronze casting method handed down through the centuries.

These are the highest in price but are also the most beautiful and will give you hours of enjoyment.

Bronze is entirely weather resistant. In fact, they grow more beautiful and more valuable as they age -- and will last for centuries.

Bronze materials have enough play to accommodate just about any design.

It can be molded into just about any shape by using the famous "lost wax" technique.

This process uses the liquid bronze is poured into a wax mold, allowed to harden and then heated again just enough for the wax to melt away.

The result is an elegant bronze sculpture that captures emotion and portrays it in one of the most elegant ways known to man.

Marble Statues

These statues are all made by Italian artists of very sturdy bonded marble.

Marble is one of the most common tools used in constructing a statue.

It is carved and chiseled into any sort of design the imagination can create.

Modern technology has made it easy and affordable to create exact replicas of original designs of marble statues and bronze wax cast molds alike.

Granite Statues

Granite statues offer a substantial piece made of pure, natural granite, but have none the less detail than the molded pieces.

These elegant works of art are crafted in the age old way of hand sculpting a sculpture from a solid piece of stone. New editions in the form of polystone angelic statues have also been added, but are more popular for those wishing to add an elegant accent to an existing home garden.

Fiberglass Statues

Fiberglass statues are a relatively new concept, and their most enduring trait is the ability to capture rich colors permanently, in a way that few other materials can.

Fiberglass is a sign of the times and is gaining in popularity. These types of statues have the long-lasting durability of bronze and marble, but they can retain color.

It is true that bronze and marble statues can be painted or dyed to hold the look of some color other than their natural hue. But those paints and dies cannot be permanent. Bronze and marble colored statues will fade over time, but fiberglass will not!

Fiberglass can be created in a variety of permanent colors, and these will not fade or go away over time. The result is that many famous, classic marble or bronze patterns can now be replicated in living color.
