For anyone that has loved and lost, they know that the well of grief that seems to have been opened in the heart can seem endless. While the world around us continues to revolve, our worlds seem to have suddenly stopped in their tracts. We find ourselves collecting memories and mementoes left behind, as if bringing all the pieces together will be like putting a puzzle back together to create a whole. The reality is that, while we know that all of the 'pieces' will not create the whole that we would hope for, they do bring us a small amount of comfort. Some of the pieces that we hold on to longer have a way of helping us, if at least momentarily, forget the grief felt, and instead replace that with a fleeting moment of happiness brought along with a forgotten memory.
