Our most popular fingerprint jewelry are fingerprint necklace memorials that contain a chain and a small pendant adorning your loved one's fingerprint. What's the process for ordering a piece of Thumbies Jewelry?
It's very simple. First, place an order with us. After ordering, you will receive an email order confirmation. Reply to the email and attach a black-and-white image of your loved one's finger, thumb, hand or footprint. Once we confirm that the print is good for embossing, your part is complete. We hand your print off to our artists, and they start working on creating you a special, one-of-a-kind memorial that you will never forget.
How long does it take to create a thumbies Fingerprint Necklaces?
The process usually takes between 3-5 weeks once your fingerprint is accepted by us. It's a pretty short period of time when you consider that this is a truly custom piece of art.
How is Fingerprint Memorial Jewelry made?
Thumbies are made by using a process called wax casting. This ancient and intricate process preserve the detail present in a fingerprint. The wax casting creates a mold of your loved one's fingerprint. Metal is then poured into this mold.
While the process sounds simple, it's actually very delicate work. A lot of care and attention goes into ensuring every crevice, ridge and valley is present in the final piece. Finally, the piece is inspected throughout the process to correct any imperfections early.
